100 Braces and Counting!

What it means for me to be at boundless

Nicole Poupart
Works part-time as a Technical Assistant

Hello! My name is Nicole Poupart and I am working as a Technical Assistant at Boundless Biomechanical Bracing. I am born and raised in Mississauga, but I completed my undergraduate degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph in 2013.

A Great Place to Work and Learn

I initially started volunteering at Boundless to gain more experience working in the orthotics field in order to better my chances of getting into the technical program at GBC. I thought of Boundless as the perfect learning opportunity as there is a very strong connection with the college program and all of the staff are ready and willing to teach others. After volunteering for the summer of 2015, I was then hired to work with the Boundless team as a technical assistant and have been there ever since! I mainly work on Ankle Foot Orthotics (AFO’s), but have also made foot orthotics, Wrist Hand Orthotics (WHO’s), and also some spinal braces.

100 Braces and Counting!

I’ve probably made over 100 braces since I’ve been working at Boundless and I hope to continue on with my work and to also progress onto more complex projects to develop my skills. I believe what I’m doing is important for the well-being of others and it’s important that I do my job well so that the patients I make braces for receive a brace that functions properly for them and is safe and comfortable to wear.

What's Up Next?

Working at Boundless has been nothing but a positive experience for me. I’ve met so many great people and have been fortunate enough to work in such an open-minded and peaceful workplace. In the future I’d like to complete my residency and become a certified technician so that I can continue working in the field of orthotics (or prosthetics; not too sure which sector I will go into yet!)

“Hardworking and self-motivated, Nicole is an integral part of the team at Boundless. Her ability to take on growing technical responsibilities while managing both an academic and collegiate athletic career has been impressive. We will miss having her with us full-time while she is back at school. ”
